You need to remove the bottom few centimeters of the spring onion so you only have the green that remains. Onions are very dangerous for Crohn's disease but if you're desperate for some onion taste in your meals then make sure to use the green part only of a spring/salad onion

Cooked I have no problem with but if I eat them raw then I'll be really unwell for 3-4 days.
